we stayed at the victoria hotel for 4 nights during may. i had reserved a standard room through the web. when we arrived i asked if i could upgrade it and desk clerk was already in the process of giving us a superior room for no extra charge. we has a big size room on the top floor (5th) overlooking the harbor. The hotel is old and lovely but the bathrooms and rooms had been renovated. bathrooms were big sized. The continental breakfast included in the room rate in the morning was wonderful. eggs, bacon, homemade bread, cereal, crepes, danishes, etc... The hotel is in a wonderful location right near the small cobbled streets of the city. There is a computer in the lobby for guests to use. The hotel has a bar which serves light fare from 4pm on as well as a formal restaurant. we ate at the restaurant once and it was good but very expensive. overall i would highly recommend the victoria hotel for your stay in stavanger
