For a stay in East London....

The Viking hotel is a good choice of hotel if you want to stay in the East of London. This ia a fairly new hotel which only opened in 2008.

Stratford, which is where the hotel is located will be a much sought after area to stay because Stratford will be home to the Olympic Games when the event comes to London in 2012.

LOCATION

The Viking hotel is just a 10 minute walk to Stratford Underground station.

Opposite Stratford Station you will find a large shopping area which, as well as reasonably priced stores also includes market stalls.

Opposite the shopping centre you will find what is known as Stratford's cultural area which includes the Theatre Royal Stratford East which originally opened in 1884 and is home to the Theatre Workshop Company. In this area you will find a good choice of bars, galleries and Caribbean restaurants.

If you will be flying in or out of the London City Airport, the local bus number 473 runs between London City Airport and Stratford. London City Airport is the only airport actually in London.
