Excellent location, central. A few minutes walk from everything (beach, old town center, bus stop, market place, grocery store and restaurants. Rooms are spacious and beautiful. Great breakfast. For lunch and diner we preferred the nearby restaurants.

I wish I could say that I liked this hotel, however I never had a chance to stay there. I booked two rooms through ****. When I arrived the hotel told me to sit. After 15 minutes I asked if there was a problem with my reservations and they said there was but the manager was working on it. I had just watched the manager chatting with 2 groups of people and most of the overheard conversation was just chit chat. After another 10 to 15 minutes they told me they didnt have a contract with ****, did not have a room but found me rooms next door which turned out to be right next to the bar with music playing all night long. Not once was I offered compensation nor vouchers and was refused when I asked. There were at least 2 other couples who had reservations but no rooms who had not reserved through *** and thus the hotel just overbooked and lied. I called *** and they confirmed they had a contract with the hotel. This hotel does not deserve the 5 star hospitality rating some international vacation club has given it. Perhaps it is nice if all goes well and you get your room but if anything goes wrong they do not handle it well.

Been to this hotel three times now. My friends and I use it as a base for golf holidays in the Algarve. The hotel is functional, very reasonably priced and smack bang in the centre of the town close to the beach and some excellent restaurants. The hotel is spotlessly clean has a superb bar (called the Dog and Duck!) which serves a fine Sagres Beer. Try the Sagres Preta (Dark) its a fine malty brew. The sea food restaurants in the town are so good and cheap there's no point eating in the hotel. The supermarkets are some of the best I've seen in Europe and the choice and price makes a mockery of anything I've seen in the UK. We sometimes purchase food from here to have lunch on the balcony. Buy some of the local wine (from the Alentejo region - I wish I could get this in the UK too!) and use it to wash down some local cheeses and meats and you'll be in heaven. All in all its a fine comfortable clean hotel which is a great base to discover the wonderful coasts and golf courses of the Algarve. I'm going for a 4th time next year so that should say it all.

I satyed in this hotel in october 2002. We thought that the hotel was lovely and the indoor pool was great although it did smell a little. The outdoor pool was small and very cold although it was raining when we went there. The staff where lovely and could speak quite good English. The bar area was quite old fashioned and could do with updating as it did look like it was for older people. The entertainment at night was good and tried to get people involved. The area was good just a short walk to the old town and there was a shopping centre near by. All in all we enjoyed the holiday and the hotel and would definatly go back there!

This is a very good hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are relatively spacious, comfortable and clean. The air conditioning works efficiently; just as well since on some days noon temperature was 44 degrees C when we stayed there in late July! Although the outdoor pool is small there is an excellent, larger indoor pool with slide. Breakfasts are good with a huge choice of food. You can even have sparkling wine. The beach and old town is a 15 minute walk down a steep hill but you can travel by a roadtrain which stops outside the hotel every 20 minutes. There are some excellent restaurants nearby. The hotel has a very pleasant garden with with shade from large trees and bushes. There is an outdoor bar and grill open during the day but it seemed understaffed so you could wait a long time to get served. This was the only criticism we could make of this very pleasant and welcoming hotel.

My husband and I loved the hotel. We had a beautiful ocean/pool view room. It was easy walking to both the old and new town. The staff was very professional and friendly and spoke excellent English. We would highly recommend this place.
