Nice hotel away from the city hustle at a great price
We were a group of middle aged friends travelling to Rome for the first time. We had a little trouble finding Waldorf Hotel from the metro station but once there we found most things to our liking.
The staff were always helpful and although the rooms weren't enormous they were comfortable enough, modern and well-kept. The breakfasts were good and it was nice to be able to take a coffee to the courtyard. We had a nice meal at a Trattoria down near the metro. It was quite good to be away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas.
You would definitely appreciate night sleep at Waldorf Hotel since it's on a quiet street far from the city hustle.
I personally would definitely recommend Waldorf Hotel, unless you would be more up to the city center hotels. All in all, we had a great time at Waldorf Hotel.

Lovely little hotel
Waldorf Hotel is a brilliant hotel for its location. At first glance it appears to be too far outside of the centre of Rome and I was nervous about this at first but it was perfectly situated. About a 3 min walk from the metro in a predominantly residential area with a few shops and places to eat. The area seems as decent as any other city area I've been to and gives you an insight into the normal way of live, not just the tourist attractions. Metro costs very cheap, regardless of where you are going and takes about 5 mins to get to the Vatican and about 12 mins to get to the Termini.
As for the hotel itself, its very lovely, the room was tastefully plainly decorated and was perfectly clean. The bathroom had a hairdryer and a very well lit, large mirror it was lovely and clean with both a short bath and a shower. Breakfast was a good buffet with plenty of choice, frequently being replenished.
The dining room was pleasant and the tables cleared and relaid quickly, there was plenty of seating so no need to fight over tables. We found the staff polite and friendly. This hotel in my opinion is of a better standard than a 3 star hotel in England and is ideal for travellers and couples on a budget. Don't let the negative reviews put you off, Waldorf Hotel is a really little gem for a 3 star. Highly recommended.

Fantastic, much better than we expected
We just returned from our trip to Rome where we have stayed at Waldorf Hotel. Overall, we had a fantastic experience. The staff was great, always being friendly and helpful at directions and advising. We really appreciated, that the hotel management let us check out at later time, due to our late flight schedule.
Waldorf Hotel is not right in the city center, but within 10 min walk to the transportation links to take you to the center. Actually, it was nice being in a real Roman neighborhood, and we enjoyed meeting some of the people who were not in a "tourist area".
Our package was very reasonably priced with well furnished, recently renewed, comfortable rooms and very modern bathrooms in an excellent state .of repair The Waldorf is close to the Cornelia (line A) metro station, and also a nice cafeteria and restaurant that are both full of friendly local people. Overall, we found Waldorf Hotel as a good quality hotel, recently refurbished and immaculate. Honestly, much better than we expected.

Well worth bargain holiday experience
All in all, Waldorf Hotel is a very pleasant small hotel in a good location. The hotel is right next to a metro station meaning that you always have a good starting point for sightseeing. The room we had was fine with twin beds and a clean bathroom. It smelt of bad drains went we first went in but the smell soon went. The breakfast was good and all the staff friendly. We ate locally in the evenings and the food was exceptional and we paid very reasonable prices. It was good to get out of the hustle and bustle of central Roma after a full days sightseeing to relax in a busy but hassle free town.
It was a bargain break and my expectations were reasonably low but its nice when you get a pleasant surprise. I would definitely recommend Waldorf Hotel.

Great hotel in beautiful Roma
Very nice hotel with knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Room was a very good size and very clean and tidy.
Transport into the city center is very easy with a metro station and buses in less than 10 minutes walk away and there is also a very nice outdoor garden area to have a few drinks in after a big day sightseeing.
Only complaint we had was the 3 course meal that was advertised in the hotel, this was unfortunately very very basic and not alot of food for an evening meal, they also ran out of some of the food by the time deserts came along. We think it was a tourist bus meal put on and the hotel were trying to make a little extra money from it.
It was very obvious that it was not a normal restaurant was was set up for breakfasts only.
Overall though a really good quality hotel and would recommend everything there apart from the meal at night. |

Waldorf Hotel
Comfortable hotel outside city centre. Five minutes from Metro station and bus terminus. Only major disadvantage is that Metro closes each evening around 9pm. Buses, however, continue to run. Some rooms more modern than others. Ours was the latter but comfortable. Excellent American buffet breakfast in bright restaurant. |

Waldorf hotel
I had an excellent stay at the Waldorf hotel. I'm a single parent and took my 8 year old son with me. The staff were excellent - friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and well furnished. Breakfast was good (typical cold buffet). The metro is a 5 minute walk away - only 3 or 4 stops to get to the Vatican. I'd definitely stay there again. |
