Quaintly styled, conveniently located
This was our first time visit to Dresden, where we have booked at Westin Hotel Bellevue Dresden. We were a family of four – my wife, two teenage kids and I.
The hotel is definitely a historical treasure, designed and decorated in 80’s style, I guess, that gives a peculiar character, as we thought, and perhaps for some it would seem like outdated. Yet we were absolutely fine especially when the hotel is perfectly positioned, about 5-10 minutes away from the Old City through a beautiful river, besides there are various attractions and restaurants in the vicinity.
As we’ve been given two rooms, one of the rooms was facing the Elbe and surely we did enjoy the panorama of the old town and the other was facing a wonderful courtyard and small garden. Both rooms were large enough, also decorated in a theme design, yet comfortable and clean.
The reception clerk who checked us in was absolutely delightful, so friendly and helpful, providing us with information on hotel and Dresden in general. The breakfast that was included in our rate, was a self service type, with nice offer. Once we had a dinner at the hotel’s restaurant that was absolutely great, the bar at the hotel had a very nice selection of wine, yet expensive with a nice presentation. There was an indoor pool which came to be a bonus for our kids while my wife was unwinding in a spa that she found it to be not bad.
Overall, for the value we paid, Westin Hotel Bellevue Dresden was well worth it and we had a wonderful time at Dresden. |
